So relaxing, very quiet and private. A thoroughly joyful experience. Wonderful! Everything! Quality coffee & tea. Plenty of glasses. Great breakfast. Comfortable couch & bed, quite luxurious. Our hosts were available but gave us privacy. We really enjoyed our stay and will visit again.

Gorgeous, comfy, spic and span retreat with all the amenities (and even fresh flowers!); especially loved the bath. Property has hares, kangaroos, and a dam full of ducks 🙂 Close to Hanging Rock, Trentham Falls, Daylesford etc. Dark sky area so can see loads of stars. Loads to do and much to explore both on the property and in nearby towns.

This sweet little cottage had absolutely everything that we needed and more. It was incredibly clean and cosy and the bed was comfortable. We will be back. The only negative was that we couldn’t stay longer.

We ordered scones on arrival. the best scones I've ever had. We went out exploring the area and stayed in every evening. It felt like coming home, we didn’t want to go out at night. Mary & Derek are so lovely they felt like old friends. We really enjoyed the property. we will come again.

Your cottage was such a delight and provided us with the much needed ‘fresh air’ retreat we desperately needed. We have left here feeling calm, grounded and refreshed – already thinking about when we might be back… perhaps summer to make full use of the tennis court. Thank you.

Great location both Derek and Mary are fabulous hosts. I would recommend this stay to anyone. Excellent, quiet, fabulous get away. Poor phone reception and no WiFi but it is a getaway retreat so if you’re looking to done tools and recharge, this is definitely the place.

We had the most relaxing weekend at The Retreat. The cottage is located on beautiful land with gardens and a tennis court. The property itself is spotlessly clean, very quiet and private. Plenty of good books and board games provided. We also had a great time playing tennis and badminton (racquets also provided). And kangaroo spotting at dusk is just a bonus. Overall, highly recommend!

Everything was available for us for breakfast & the setting was glorious.

Mary and Derek's cottage was lovely and well-appointed. They were very communicative and even stayed up to make sure we found the place okay after getting delayed driving there. The cottage is very private and has a lovely outdoor area - I'd highly recommend it.

A terrific stay - Mary made us feel very welcome and the cottage itself is a gem. Extremely comfortable bed, a beautiful clawfoot bath and thoughtful touches (including extensive breakfast provisions) - not to mention the kangaroos literally outside the door! A wonderful place for a rural getaway - highly recommend.

We had such a lovely, relaxing stay at Mary and Derek’s cottage. The location was peaceful and picturesque, and the cottage was beautifully laid out with everything we needed. Despite the wintery mornings, we were very toasty inside, and Mary and Derek were kind enough to turn the heating on so that it was warm on our arrival in the evening. A generous breakfast was provided, and we were grateful for a local recommendation for dinner. It was definitely hard to come back to the city after such a refreshing weekend

My partner and I had a lovely weekend at The Retreat. Despite the cold winter weather, the cottage was cosy and warm, and with a generous hamper of provisions provided we were able to spend our mornings relaxing. Would recommend to others and hope to stay again in future!

A light breakfast muesli. Yoghurt, fresh fruit, toast, variety of jams etc. fruit juice, large bottle of water. The hosts offered scones with jam and cream at extra costs which was excellent. Very hot weekend air con was on when we arrived.  Lots of books on hand, board games. Tennis court, beautiful location away from the main house. Host very friendly and left us to ourselves in a perfect location.  A most beautiful retreat and the cottages was of a very high standard.
