Hubby & I enjoyed our stay so much! It was so cosy & so clean. The breakfast & all the extra goodies provided were also really impressive. Surrounding towns were a short drive away, close & so beautiful. We will definitely be back. Perfect little getaway

This place is everything advertised and more! My girlfriend and I had the best stay. The cottage is incredibly well designed and styled, we enjoyed the delicious breakfast, a bath, the kangaroos on our doorstep, we had an evening fire that Derek kindly lit for us and even played some basketball. Would absolutely recommend.

Mary and Derek have created a luxurious B’n’B, surrounded by beautiful Australian bush and local wildlife. There are huge amounts of thought and care that have been put into this gorgeous cottage (and surrounds) which makes for a special experience for guests. Thank you for the impeccably clean space, glorious breakfast options, incredibly comfortable king-sized bed and amazing restored bathtub!

We enjoyed a lovely long weekend at Mary and Derek’s property. The location is beautiful, secluded and surrounded by thick bush and trees. The accommodation is stunning and perfectly suited for a weekend escape – Mary provided a selection of fruit toast, bread, fresh fruit and condiments for breakfast, which meant we could enjoy a lazy morning before heading out to explore the area. We also were able to enjoy a hit of tennis in the afternoon on Mary & Derek’s tennis court before having a wine by the outdoor pot belly fire. I would highly recommend Mary & Derek’s cottage and we will definitely be back again.

Absolute bliss! We stepped away from the madness going on in the world at the moment and found a relief from all the fear and anxiety hearing about it all. The peaceful surrounding gardens and native bush land with the sounds of birds over a lovely bottle of red and cheese was just what we needed relaxing outside in alfresco space…. Not a soul around but us! The bedding was super comfy, and cottage was spotless and loaded with everything you could need. We would love to come back again and highly recommend this stay it’s a true retreat in every sense of the word.

Absolutely glorious. A totally hidden “retreat” from the world where it’s so easy to switch off and soak in the beautiful bush surroundings. Mary and Derek have thought of absolutely everything in the cutest cottage. Tennis, badminton, BBQ, super comfy bed and an old-fashioned bathtub to soak in whilst watching the kangaroos frolic in the back garden! Short drive to Hanging Rock, Mt Macedon and Trentham. These two define the term Super Hosts. We couldn’t recommend highly enough.

The Retreat at Amryhouse is extraordinary. Set in a natural tranquil environment with both manicured and emerging gardens, it offers a level of privacy and luxurious amenities that discerning romantic couples aspire to enjoy on their getaways. But it is not simply the setting, or the warm welcome that sets this place apart. It is also the attention to detail and the quality fittings that Mary and Derek have incorporated into the cottage, that make it exceptional. I don’t want to say anymore. I want this little drop of heaven to be my little secret. I selfishly want this place to be available whenever I choose. Because I have every intention of returning (repeatedly). In the meantime, if you’re considering this place or somewhere else, I suggest you choose this one. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Didn’t think possible! In short The Retreat is nothing short of perfection for a relaxing getaway!!

‘What a gem! A quiet romantic and beautiful place. We rested, played tennis on the court, sat and read on the verandah. It was so tranquil and the stylish hospitable touches within the little cottage itself were a treat.

The retreat was the perfect getaway – lovely cottage in a beautiful location, and spotlessly clean. Mary and Derek had added lots of thoughtful touches and with the lovely natural surrounds, tennis court, basketball hoop, and bbq we had a wonderful stay. Particular mention to my all-time favourite bath – basked in sunlight and with a view of wallabies feeding on the lawn! Unbeatable. We even saw an echidna. Would love to stay again.

Such an amazing space that Mary and Derek have created. Chock-full of thoughtful amenities, unbelievably immaculate and absolutely beautiful surrounds. The bathroom and living areas are light and incredibly spacious. Lots of thought has gone into this stay and we had an amazing weekend.

Mary’s place is a beautiful, private retreat with such beautiful personal touches through the cottage. Beautiful outdoor area and the cottage had more than everything we needed.

We really enjoyed our overnight stay @ Mary & Derek’s Place. Our only regret was not being able to stay for longer on this particular occasion. Mary is a warm host, but she also gave us lots of privacy from the moment we arrived, which made us feel very much at home. A beautiful place to stay & immaculately clean.
